This will be the third time that I embark on the atkins adventure.
The first time was approximatelt 5 years ago. I stuck to it for about 6 weeks and lost approxiamtely 5kgs. At that stage however I was still brainwashed and felt that it was an unhealthy way of eating, even though I felt free of that ravenous feeling when I arrived home from work and ate everything in site.
I tried it again in April 2012 and followed it till the end of 2012. I managed to lose 7kg over that period. I did not follow it strictly but tried to adhere to the principle of limiting carbs. I then lost my way last year and have managed to gain 5kg back up to date.
I have now accepted that I cannot eat carbs freely or even in limited quantities. As soon as I eat carbs, I crave them on a constant basis.
Today is the 3rd day that I am only eating meat and fats and have reached ketosis.
I am planning to add small amounts of carbs once I am well into ketosis.
my symtoms over the past three days have been:
Sore throat
thick post nasal drip
aggresive
tearfull
but i know the symptoms will pass.
I have decided to share my journey as a means of putting preasure on myself to reach my goalweight. I have 28kg to lose.
